April showers bring May flowers...
I aboslutely love opening the window, listening to the rain and soaking up a great book!
If you do come across a couple rainy days this spring why not spend some time with my current favourite healthy books...enjoy!
I am currently obsessed with this book! It is an easy read by a woman who worked a busy, stressful job in fashion, discovered meditation and its amazing benefits, simplified it and started a meditation studio in LA. I love how easy she makes meditation and her realness about it. One section of the book has 15 super easy meditations you can do anytime - like one while waiting in line at Starbucks, or "A Quick Shot of Calm" - most of them are 5 minutes or less. She also goes deeper into the true benefits of meditation with real life examples. This book has inspired me to make time to meditate for 10 minutes every day. I'm five days in and loving it so far!
Gwyneth Paltrow is synonymous with natural beauty and so it comes as no surprise that this book is full of info, tips and even recipes for looking your best naturally. With a focus on beauty from the inside out - something I truly believe in and encourage on Picky Diet - this book covers healthy recipes, detoxing, sleep, hair and beauty products. Plus there are easy makeup and hair tips...It is the perfect book to inspire a little beauty "spring cleaning"!
I've followed Gabby Bernstein on social media for a long time and always am inspired by her! This is the first time I have read one of her books and I love it. She openly talks about difficult personal experiences, what she learned from them and how she grew and healed. She guides you through simple steps and practices to reaching your dreams and goals by releasing fear and resistance and surrendering to love and the universe. It includes prayers, meditations, visualizations and mantras to help you break through and "release your old thought system". I love how this book helps you surrender to personal obstacles and guide you on a fresh, free path to what you desire.
I would love to hear from you! What are you currently reading? What are your favourite "healthy" books? Let me know in the comments below...
