Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup gluten free rolled oats
  • 3 Tbsp cacao powder (can use unsweetened cocoa powder)
  • 2 Tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • sprinkle of sea salt
  • 1/2 cup creamy almond butter (can sub seed butter to make it nut free)
  • 1/4 cup raw honey
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

Tips & Nutrition

These energy bites are full of antioxidant rich cacao and get extra protein and fibre from the oats, almond butter and chia seeds.

Simply make these nut free by using sunflower seed butter or pumpkin seed butter instead of almond butter.

Method

In a medium size mixing bowl stir together the dry ingredients - oats, cacao powder, chia seeds, sea salt and cinnamon.

In a different medium size mixing bowl stir together the almond butter, honey and vanilla extract until well combined.

Pour the wet mixture over the dry and stir well until a thick "dough" is formed. Use your hands to form the dough into bite size balls. You may want to wet your hands with warm water to make this easier and less sticky.

Refrigerate for 30 minutes to set.

Store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days or in the freezer for a month.
